Search a doctor by name, place of practice or registration number: shows the type of registration and where they graduated.

Check that the surgeon is registered as a specialist, not only as a doctor.

Clinics

Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC): find a hospital

The national medical travel council's list of hospitals for international patients. Being listed is not a guarantee of the outcome.

Doctors and dentists: Search the surgeon in the Medical Council's register, then in the National Specialist Register.

Rules worth knowing

  • Doctors must be registered with the Malaysian Medical Council, and specialists also on the specialist register: both can be searched by name.
  • The UK Foreign Office notes that government and private hospitals charge for all services and that private care is expensive.
